We are beyond excited to announce that our very own Attorney Nathan A. Olson has been selected to the 2020 Rising Stars list. Receiving this highly coveted designation is substantial for a couple of reasons. First, a lawyer must go through a rigorous, multiphase selection process to be chosen to the list. Second, only 2.5% of attorneys in the state are included on the Rising Stars list. We must note that this is not the first time the accolade has been bestowed upon Nathan. He was also named in 2019. We are immensely proud of his achievement and are grateful for the level of care and attention Nathan applies to every criminal matter he handles.
How Attorneys Are Chosen to the Rising Stars List
Super Lawyers establishes the Rising Stars list. The organization helps connect individuals with the legal representation they need and works toward this goal by putting out a list of attorneys in each state who have shown outstanding professionalism.
The Rising Stars list selection process is as follows:
- Nominations: An attorney is first considered after being nominated for the designation. They cannot nominate themselves; instead, a lawyer who has seen them in action submits their name to Super Lawyers. The organization also conducts its own independent research to identify nominees.
- Independent research: After receiving potential candidates, Super Lawyers thoroughly researches all attorneys submitted for consideration. The nominees are evaluated on 12 indicators of achievement and recognition. These factors include verdicts/settlements, lectures/writings, and honors/awards, among others. It's important to note that not all areas are weighted the same; some have higher point values than others.
- Peer evaluation: The nominees who received the highest scores in the first two steps are then invited to a "blue ribbon review" panel. They are asked to rate, on a five-point scale, fellow nominees in their practice area.
- Final selection: Attorney's scores from the previous four steps are then tallied. Those with the highest rankings who are 40 years old or younger or who have been in practice for 10 years or less are then included on the Rising Stars list.
Once again, we want to congratulate Attorney Nathan A. Olson for his most recent achievement.
